1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.

However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is depleted it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its dirt into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The battery's life span is approximately an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

Its main advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot vacuum cleaner black friday to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and vacuum a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its sluggish run time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's enough time to best automatic vacuum the average-sized home but not enough to reach every area. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.

The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice touch.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently will run out of battery before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost, has more advanced automation abilities and is able to better maneuver its own.
