The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot automatic vacuum and mop robot combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those who wish to cross mopping off the to-do list. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model you should go for. It is smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best robot hoover navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through a clean.
It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes into contact with rugs, and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's easy to install and performs well however, this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and efficiently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surface areas. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another noteworthy feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the intensity of its suction, and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will determine how quickly the device can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
This device has a fairly high price tag but is packed with a wide array of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device is subject to regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan, which it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of collecting pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to inform you that it was starting and working towards its goal.
The app was too simple and you had to change the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't hold multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start cleaning and then recall the robot vacuum best or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaner, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing view in a market that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
